  1. As always, you capture the essential underlying personality of the people you photograph. I've often said to Heidi that both she and I have had to learn to become approachable to the average person in order to teach. I think your photos of us captured us before we put on the mask(s) of approachability and "adorableness" that make people mistakenly think that they could just about crawl into our laps and be comfortable. There may have been other photographs that looked more like "the mask" of approachability, but I looked at my portrait and really recognized myself (before I put on my day face).
