  1. I was very excited to participate in this project. I have always been a fan of early portrait photography, so what a grand opportunity to step into that world.

I have a dual background in Western classical music and ethnomusicology. I play both the trombone and the didjeridu, plus I am the dean of the Lawrence Conservatory of Music.

I thought that combining the "uniform" of Western classical music, the tux, with my termite-hollwed didjeridu and ironwood clapsticks would be the perfect way to honor both of my interests, while also recognizing the formality of early portaiture.
